Video Documenation Workshop • Sept. 22, 2009

The Power of Digital Video

Come to the Boulder Journey School to learn the how and why of digital video documentation. Bring your own laptop computer (optional) and learn how to insert video into text documents to better see what children know and to better study the details of children's learning in your own program. Learn how easy it is to distribute high impact video and text to others via the web and to create your own video library that represents the history, culture, and quality of your work. Move from standards as universal milestones to standards as your unique stories, shared unedited with those who need to know. During this full-day workshop, you will learn how to:

* Determine when an activity is worth capturing on video.

* Make sense of children's play by looking for their goals, strategies, and theories.

• Choose the best software, hardware, and Internet resources for your work.

• Store and index your video clips for ease of use, display, and distribution.

• Use video as data to account for the quality of your work.

Date: Tuesday, September 22, 2009. Cost: $175 per person. Place: Boulder, Colorado

Workshop Leaders: Dr. George Forman and Dr. Ellen Hall, co-founders of Videatives, Inc.
